Daddy's Boot Camp

Some days it is a battle to get James to eat the last bite required to get his dessert.  Brad has to call upon his military training and play the tough guy while I sit there and laugh. Jude is not a snuggle bunny...which makes me sad so I trap him when he's asleep and snuggle him until he wakes up. The boys had a very active day today so they both sacked out early.

Puff The Magic Jamesie

Jude is getting really good at army crawling.  I wish he would just CRAWL!  Here is a little example. And when I went into to get James up from his nap, I found him in the center of a big huge puff of baby powder. Why does he do these things to me?  Oh!  I remember why!  Because someone (ahem...Bradley!!!!) left the baby powder out in his room and I have learned that you don't leave ANYTHING out if you don't want it destroyed when James is behind a closed door.  He emptied the powder bottle (Bottle? Container? Shaker?) on the floor, changing table, and himself.  And just so you know before you watch the video..."doopa" is baby powder at our house.  Why, you ask?  Because Brad calls hiney bo's "doopas" and when he changes James' diaper he would always tell him he was putting powder on his doopa and so somewhere along in there James started calling powder doopa. Tonight we went over to Mom and Dad's to celebrate Brad's birthday one more time.

Please Lord Let It Rain

We are praying for the rain to come and the wind to stop.  Our town has had so many fires.  So scary.  Here are pictures we took from tonight's fires. Job 5:9-11-He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted.  He provides rain for the earth; He sends water on the countryside.   The lowly He sets on high, and those who mourn are lifted to safety.

Celebrating Brad

Today was a great birthday for Brad!  When we came downstairs James looked at the birthday banner and said, "Letters!  I show Puppy!" Speaking of dogs...every time James mentions George I tell him that George had to go live somewhere else because he bit him.  So now James has started saying, "Judie Bug bit me.  I don't like Judie Bug."  I need to inform him that the same rules don't apply to his little brother.  We're keeping him.  Regardless of if he bites him or not.  (But for the record, Jude has not bitten him.  Yet.) I have a feeling it won't be long though. Anyways, we started out the day with breakfast with my parents at Brad's favorite breakfast place.  It was yummy but super crowded.  Plus Jude pooped and I had to take him to the teeny tiny bathroom that had NO changing table to change him.  I laid down a bunch of paper towels and laid him on the counter.  Jude did not love it.  Then a few minutes later I was lifting James out of the

Happy Birthday Bradley

Happy Birthday to my sweet hubby!  I love you so much!

Share And Share Alike

Today got off to such a good start and I am so thankful!  James wasn't feeling the love though.  He was all sorts of cranky that Jude had the nerve to touch his tool bench.  How dare he. He had to get up off the couch and everything to move it away from him.  James is very particular about the tools being hung up on the side...everything in its place.  Jude, not s'much...and it irks James to his very core.  He also doesn't like for Judie Bug to touch him at all.  Ever. One of our morning routines is reading the Bible together.  Or as James calls it...the "Boble".  This morning he decided it was his turn to read it to me and he kept saying, "Listen, I read the Boble.  Listen!" Seems like I might need to start reading him a few verses about loving your little brother and sharing your toys and whatnot. Afternoon nap time came and James once again resisted.  What else is new?  So I went in to get him after awhile and it scared him when I opened his door

Finally

Both Dr. Honey and Raine are back in town!  Thank you Lord!  And let's all hope they never leave town at the same time again.  My nerves can't handle it.  I spoke to them for a long time this morning and I have GREAT news!  All of James' labs came back PERFECT!!!!  Thank you Lord!!!!  The only thing is that he is allergic to cats.  That makes me laugh.  I can handle that one.  And as far as Jude is concerned, Dr. Honey seems comfortable with his labs even though they went up this month since they are within the "normal range".  Of course I wish they had gone down but I am going to try to relax about it and just be happy that they are in the normal range. Honestly...I feel like a HUGE weight has been lifted this morning.  I have been worried about James' labs for months.  I was worried about getting them done and the fact that we kept having to put it off.  Worried about the trauma on James.  Worried about the results.  And now to know everything is perfect

So Here's The Rub

Judie Bug is still making great progress on his crawling!  It's so cute! He is packing on the pounds too.  Look at those cheeks!  Looks like they are so heavy they are about to fall off his face. He is such a sweet happy baby. So here is the deal from last night's post.  Aside from the fact that my son has cancer, I am still waiting for James' test results and I am sick of waiting, I am terribly hurt by a "friends" insensitivity, I had a doctor's appointment yesterday that was sort of emotional, and a few other things that I won't go into detail on, our dog George attacked James the other night as we came in from Mom and Dad's.  He bit him twice.  James did nothing to provoke him.  We have no idea what the deal was.  George continued to growl at him for the rest of the evening and all the next morning.  Actually he was growling at both boys.  I've had George for 6 years and he has growled and nipped a lot.  Even bitten a few times but he's n

One Of Those Days

Brad and I decided today that being a grown-up sucks sometimes. Today was one of those days. It was so bad and I am so glad it is over. I know that with this path that we are on we are going to have good days and bad days...this just happened to be one of the bad ones. Anywhosie...tomorrow will be better I'm sure.

A Bit Of A Letdown

So I got a little clarification on Jude's lab work and I am not as happy as I was yesterday.  Although his levels are within the "normal range", both numbers went up.  We want them to go down.  Dr. Honey is always able to put my mind at ease when I am having trouble understanding different aspects of this cancer but she is out of town right now.  She will be able to translate a lot of this to me when she gets home.  Although Dr. Regeuira is FABULOUS...there is a disconnect with him being able to explain things in a way I understand.  Thankfully, Dr. Honey is fluent in Snuzi.  I'm trying to just sit tight until she gets back.  Raine is also out of town (how could they leave me unattended, right?!?!?!) and she'll be back on Thursday and should be able to tell me James' lab results...if not just ward off the panic attack that I am settling nicely into until Dr. Honey gets home. Today Jude started his first little crawls!  I am so excited! I bet he will be crawli

Good Jude News

I talked to Dr. Regueira's nurse today and we have great news! Jude's lab work came back within the normal range! I have no earthly idea what the specifics of that are, but I'm glad it is a good thing! So does that mean I can stop worrying for 3 weeks until the next round? Prolly not.  But it's always nice to get good news!  Thank you Lord! My friend Kristi is in town and we got together today.  She is my crafty friend that makes blankies, bibs, burp clothes , key rings , aprons, and lots of other sweet things. Anyways...Kristi and I were BFFs back in middle school and everybody thought we were sisters because we looked so much alike...and we still do! I LOVED getting to meet her girls! Precious! Jamesie got all slicked up for the occasion.  He tries to impress the ladies. He hit the jackpot today because Avery played play-doh with him... And Kyndall played at the tool bench with him. They were all so cute together.  (I love how Jamesie and Avery have their litt

First Swim Of The Summer

Happy Sunday!  Mom and Dad got a baby pool for their backyard for the boys and that is all I have talked to James about...and by "talked about" I mean "bribed", of course.  "If you finish your breakfast we will go swimming at Nana's."  "If you clean up your toys we will go swimming at Nana's."  "Eat your green bean and we will go outside and go swimming." But once we got out there...Jude wasn't in the mood to swim.  I think the water was too cold.  Brrrrr. James wasn't any better.  What's the deal?!?! Brad and I enjoyed it though. James was just happy to be playing outside. But we had to put a diaper on him to keep his swimsuit up.  Scrawny thing. And that didn't even help much.   Jude enjoyed sitting with Nana and Papa.       It was a beautiful day to spend outside.     Tomorrow we should get Jude's lab results back and we should have the rest of James' by the end of the week.  I will let you kn
