A Long Day And A Big Boat

This morning Jude started running a fever which is not surprising since James is sick and I felt yucky a few days ago.  But it is always a big deal when Jude gets sick.  So I took him to see Dr. Honey and then we went up to the hospital to do blood and urine labs because his breath smelled like acetone.  Thankfully, all of his levels were normal and he just caught James' cold.  It was a long hard day on all three of us.  James and Jude didn't get their naps, their meals were all thrown off, I dragged them grocery shopping with me when they were hungry and tired...and I stupidly wore heels today.  What was I thinking!?!?  When we got home, I put the boys down for a quick nap before dinner, brought the groceries in, closed all the curtains, put my pj's on, pulled my hair back, and sat and talked on the phone to my sisters for about an hour. I woke James up around 5 to eat dinner.  He was so tired! He was such a trooper today.  He didn't complain one time and was such a

Happy Birthday Morgan!

Today is my niece, Morgan's birthday!!!!  Happy Birthday Beautiful!  I love you so much and LOVE to see your precious, gentle spirit and heart!  You are the epitome of compassion. The Lord is going to do mighty things with you.  Your talent amazes me!  You are going places, girl!  I am so thankful that I get to be your aunt and watch it all unfold!  Love you! I drove through the car wash tonight with the boys.  Jamesie HATES the car wash.  It sort of breaks my heart but car washes are a part of life so he is just going to have to adjust.          Allow me to over-spiritualize here for a minute. As I watched James looking at the scary car wash brushes all around him...on every side...and then as his face changed into a smile as he saw the light at the end of the tunnel, I immediately identified with him and how he felt. When I look around at the situations that we are in, there are some days that I see nothing but terror on every side. Everywhere I look it seems bleak

Bible Stories

I took James to see Dr. Honey today and he has a cold as well as one of his molars is coming in.  Poor baby.  But that certainly accounts for how he has been acting lately. When I was little my Mom would read me Bible stories from The Bible In Pictures For Little Eyes by Kenneth Taylor.  I loved it and I still have that book. When James was dedicated Mom and Dad got him the new version and I read it to him every night. Tonight we read about Adam and Eve.  At the end of each story there are a couple of simple questions to ask your child.  So I asked James, "What is the man's name?" and he said, "Adam."  I asked, "What is the woman's name?" and James said, "Steve."  Adam and Steve.  Nope.  I don't think that's it.  Perhaps we will do a little review tomorrow night.

My Own Personal Shredder

I put James down for a nap today when I really knew better.  I knew he wasn't tired but I also knew that he wasn't feeling well and I hoped that he would rest.  I hoped wrong.  He did THIS to the books I left in bed with him. I was so unhappy. And when he got in trouble for it he just looked at me and smiled. That is when I called Nana and told her that she better come and get him in a hurry. So note to self...no more books in his bedroom at "nap time". And if you need any private documents shredded I know someone who can do it for cheap and fast. The second extremely important thing I have to tell you is that if you have not gotten some of these...  ...RUN, don't walk, to the nearest store and get a few packages because OH. MY. GOSH. they are so good.  I first saw them on Jodie's blog and for this...I will love her forever.  She has a totally awesome blog that you should check out for reasons other than these cookies but yall...these are some good cookies

Gone Again

Brad had to leave again this morning. But not before having some donuts with his best big boy. And a little fishing. James was not happy when Brad had to leave again. He cried and went and got on Brad's side of the bed and snuggled down into his pillow and said, "Daddy come back!" My heart broke into a million pieces for him. We went over to Mom and Dad's this morning. Jamesie just cannot get enough of his Nana Pie! I love this picture of them. Papa and the boys. James actually admitted being "xausted" (exhausted). So I jumped at the chance to run him home and put him down for a nap. I loved his bedhead when he woke up. Then I found out the reason for the xaustion...he is running a fever of course. It would be absolutely ridiculous to think that this family could go a whole week without someone running a fever. We will see what tomorrow brings. Maybe he will sleep it off tonight. You know James is in his new photography phase...well toni

Whoooo Whoooo

Look who popped into town today! MY SWEETIE!!!!  It is so good to see his sweet face! This morning I hung out with the fam! Maddie, Jude, & Jamesie Poo Nana, Carrie, Snuzi, Jamesie Andy and Papa working on the wagon My BEAUTIFUL nieces and Judie Bug Later Nana took the girls and James to the Discovery Center ...or as Jamesie calls it...the "Scubby Center". Mom said that James' favorite exhibit was the archaeological exhibit...not surprising since he loves dinosaurs! Ok...if you know me ...and maybe if you don't...you might know that one of my biggest fears is OWLS!  I really hate them.  Really.  So when Mom, Morgie, Maddie, and James were leaving for the Scubby Center I threw my camera to Maddie and asked her to take some pictures for me.  When I was flipping through the pictures...that little smarty pants had this little treat for me. And now I have to sleep with a nightlight on for the rest of the year.  Thanks Mad.  Love ya.

Happy Friday!

I called Jude's oncologist today to get his lab results.  I wasn't too concerned about these numbers since we had 3 good scans last week but it is always comforting to get more confirmation!  His numbers are within normal limits!  Thank you Lord! We went to see Nana and Papa this morning and James played with his new fishing game that they got for him. He was so excited when he caught a fish! Papa showed James a beautiful, huge, yellow, real butterfly.  He was fascinated! Carrie, Andy, Morgan and Madison came into town today!  After a loooooong bad week it is a special treat to have them in town!  Uncle Andy and James in their scrubs Uncle Andy, James, and Morgie Maddie and Nana James got a hold of my camera again tonight and here are a few of his pictures... Nite nite and have a happy weekend!
