Both James and Jude woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. Whew! What a way to start the day! We all sort of left each other alone until everyone cheered up a little.
Jude finally figured out the toy closet and spent most of the day in there trying to get toys dislodged from the toy box. His big brother was no help at all. He kept turning the light off on him and putting the toys back as soon as he would finally get one out.
Tonight we went over to Mom and Dad's to wait for them to get home from their vacation. The boys have missed their Nana and Papa! While we waited James watered all of Nana's flowers. For the second time today. She has the best watered flowers in town.
Jude loved looking on!
Then Jamesie decided to do a little swimming.
Jude still isn't too big on swimming so he was happy to watch from the blanket.
Then he started getting a little bored.
Jamesie thought up a new game that cracked Judie Bug up.
It makes me happy when they play together. Maybe Jude's charm is starting to work on James.
Let me just be honest with you. I started out this post on a very negative note and then deleted it. I have spent the week gathering and organizing Jude's medical records for our trip to Dallas to see the specialist. Reading all of these clinical words, seeing his scans, that big awful tumor...it's just been a real downer. Maybe I have been in denial for the past three months. Three months ago today he was diagnosed with cancer. I hate it. I hate it that I have a binder full of medical records for my 9 month old son. BUT...instead of posting the negative post I had originally written, I am going to attempt to be positive and focus on the good. Because there really is so much good. Jude is doing well. We have the opportunity to see a neuroblastoma specialist. James is healthy. And the Lord is good. All the time. Even when I am in the midst of a ginormous pity party. I wanted to vent about some things and maybe it would've felt good for a minute...but then I remembered this...
Colossians 4:5-6-Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
And besides...I believe this too...
Psalm 121:7-8-The Lord will keep you from all harm-He will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
