James' First Recipe

Yesterday I let the boys go in and wake up Brad.  And yes, Jude had already put on his boots. They ran in and attacked him.  What a way to wake up.   But he is such a sweet daddy, he couldn't help but smile. Brad and I had the pleasure of having lunch with the pastor who married us and his wife over at my parents house today.  It was so wonderful to see them and catch up a little bit.  We love Scott and Pam. After naps and running a few errands, the boys and I went back over to Mom and Dad's to play for awhile.  The boys rode a little horsey. Jamesie got hot and had to go sit down with Nana to cool off for a bit. Jude took the opportunity to ride solo. After working up an appetite, James came home and made up his specialty...grilled cheese. He's really good at cooking them now. Tonight he said he wanted to make a "tasty grilled cheese" and asked for a 3rd piece of bread. After he cooked the grilled cheese, I cut the crusts off, cut it i...

35 Weeks

I'm 35 weeks today and found out at my appointment that I am dilated to a 2!  So excited to meet Katy Jane! We had a busy day getting a lot done.  But first thing this morning Nana took the boys to story time at the library.  James loved it.  He was front and center.  Jude...was not impressed.  He spent his time looking the other direction...  Checking out the other kids... And practicing his yoga... After my appointment, Brad, the boys and I ran some errands.  We got Jude's hair cut. Then we got a planter and some plants and Brad and James got it all hung and planted.       I love how it turned out. James was up past his bedtime and I think he was tired. I love his dirty little face. He worked hard and was proud of himself.  I was proud of him too.  My sweet boy.

Brad's Birthday Celebration #1

Brad's birthday isn't for a few more days but we like to stretch our celebrations out as long as possible around here so today was celebration #1 at Mom and Dad's.  Mom made one of Brad's favorite meals...hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, and grilled corn on the cob.  She also made a special trip to the only store in town that carries his very favorite kind of root beer.  What an amazing mother in law!  I made creme brulee for his dessert. James helped blow out the candle.   After dinner and dessert the boys played outside.  It was a beautiful night.    Then James started a water fight.      After the water fight the boys snuggled up with Nana and Papa to get dry.    My handsome birthday boy. On an un-birthday related note...Jude decided to wear cowboy boots all day today.

The Boys

The boys have spent the past couple of days working in Nana and Papa's garage.  It is just the kind of little boy fun that they love.  And riding bikes. Judie Bug tries to keep up with his big brother. What a precious blessing my sweet little boys are to me!  I am enjoying these last few weeks with just my guys.

Mother's Day Part II

Last year we didn't get to have Jude dedicated at church because he had just been diagnosed.  Today was baby dedication at church again and we were able to make it!  Brad was working so my Dad stood with Jude and me.  I'm so proud of my handsome little boys that made my day so special.  James told me "Happy Mother's Day" about a zillion times.   After church we went to eat then to Mom and Dad's to open presents. James had picked out a special lady bug magnet (with Nana) because he knows I like lady bugs.  The fact that he picked it out himself because he knows I like them made it so special to me.  Such a sweet boy.  And such a sweet Nana!  Nana he also got me some beautiful earrings that I LOVE!  We snuggled down later to rest once we got home and I thanked him for my lady bug.  He said, "Thank you for opening it!  Did you really like it?"  I told him that it is my favorite present.  Then he said, "We...

Sunday

I'm sad the weekend is over because we have a super-busy week ahead.  Saturday Brad sweetly said he was going to help me clean the house.  He's amazing!  It takes a lot longer these days because I am majorly pregnant and because just as soon as I get one thing done my little boys undo it.  Then I cleverly offered Brad an alternative to a day of cleaning.  I told him that if he took the boys out of the house for 4 hours I could get the house cleaned by myself.  He fell for it.  The boys had a great day with their Daddy and I got a lot done...without "help" from James and Judie Bug.  He took them to do the grocery shopping, then to the park, and then over to some friends for a cookout. This morning Jude couldn't wait for Brad to get out of the shower.  He stayed this way, looking under the door, the whole time until Brad got out. We went to Nana and Papa's for lunch.  James LOVES to cook and his sweet Nana Pie is patient enough to let ...
