Bible Stories

I took James to see Dr. Honey today and he has a cold as well as one of his molars is coming in.  Poor baby.  But that certainly accounts for how he has been acting lately. When I was little my Mom would read me Bible stories from The Bible In Pictures For Little Eyes by Kenneth Taylor.  I loved it and I still have that book. When James was dedicated Mom and Dad got him the new version and I read it to him every night. Tonight we read about Adam and Eve.  At the end of each story there are a couple of simple questions to ask your child.  So I asked James, "What is the man's name?" and he said, "Adam."  I asked, "What is the woman's name?" and James said, "Steve."  Adam and Steve.  Nope.  I don't think that's it.  Perhaps we will do a little review tomorrow night.

My Own Personal Shredder

I put James down for a nap today when I really knew better.  I knew he wasn't tired but I also knew that he wasn't feeling well and I hoped that he would rest.  I hoped wrong.  He did THIS to the books I left in bed with him. I was so unhappy. And when he got in trouble for it he just looked at me and smiled. That is when I called Nana and told her that she better come and get him in a hurry. So note to self...no more books in his bedroom at "nap time". And if you need any private documents shredded I know someone who can do it for cheap and fast. The second extremely important thing I have to tell you is that if you have not gotten some of these...  ...RUN, don't walk, to the nearest store and get a few packages because OH. MY. GOSH. they are so good.  I first saw them on Jodie's blog and for this...I will love her forever.  She has a totally awesome blog that you should check out for reasons other than these cookies but yall...these are some good cook...

Kristy Kelly Designs

James got his new apron in the mail today from my friend Kristi Kelly !  I love it! And so does he!  One of the great things about this apron...besides it's manly super-cuteness and big pockets...is that it is adjustable.  I couldn't tell that from the pictures of it.  The tie part that goes around his neck and ties in the back slides through the side part...so hard to explain....but that's what makes it adjustable.  It's a good thing.  He will be able to wear it while he helps me in the kitchen for a long time.   Do you want to order one for your little sous-chef?  Here is a link to Kristi's blog ... And a link to her etsy store .

My friend Kristi has come up with a new darling product for me to obsess over! Key Fobs! I love love love them and ordered some just this morning. Go to her website and check them out. Kristi Kelly Designs . Kristi has extraordinary taste and makes the most beautiful things. She can monogram them or embroider them too! They fit around your wrist and are big enough to find when you are digging around in your purse. This is what really got me since I usually have to end up dumping my entire purse out to find my keys. I think they would be perfect little gifts for stocking stuffers or for teachers or neighbors or for yourself (like I did this morning...Santa told me I could).

This Post Is Not About A Valuable Use Of Time

I feel inexplicably compelled to tell you about a new show I stumbled upon Sunday. It is called Bridalplasty and it is truly trashy reality television at it's very best...or worst. It is about a group of gals all competing for various plastic surgeries and a dream wedding. I was watching it while Brad was finishing up some work. I thought he was oblivious to my viewing choice but shockingly enough...he can multitask. He said, "This is so sad." And he meant it non-sarcastically unlike everything I say. And it really was sad. These girls are desperate to drastically change the way they look. Now I don't have anything against plastic surgery, but I feel bad for these girls and the decision they made, and will indubitably regret, to do it on national television. All of that by way of saying...I will not be missing a single episode. This is like watching a train wreck. I. Can't. Turn. Away. Speaking of vain. George went and got his hair did today. As muc...

Doughnuts: A Girl's Best Friend

Jamesie loves his little brother. I think Jude is still trying to figure him out though. Sweet brothers. This was close to a perfect day! Brad took the night feedings so I got a full nights sleep, I woke up to snow, had a nice lazy day with the boys, got a lot of things organized (yes, this is fun for me), and went on the perfect birthday date with my wonderful hubby. And look at this!!!!...my favorite eggnog latte and a cute little pink birthday cake doughnut ! 2 of my favorite things...pink and doughnut.

Blue Bloods

Oh my word yall...I am having some serious love over this new series Blue Bloods on CBS. Love love love. First of all because of this... Need I say more? I think not. Don't act like you don't agree. But also because it is a really good show. Love ya and bye....I'm going to go watch some old episodes of Magnum P.I. to tide me over until Friday.

Gutters, Siding, Rain and Sheets

Never in a million years would I have ever thought I would think so much about gutters and siding...much less be this THANKFUL for them. Let me back up. The day that Jude was born we had a massive rain...a flood really. A flood in our living room. I don't do well with rain. It is a long boring irrelevant story that goes back a couple of years but I don't do well with rain. So when I was all laid up in the hospital with another life dependent upon me and fully expecting a non-flooded home to be brought home to, I wanted to freak out, but I couldn't...because, like I said, I was all laid up and there was nothing I could do about it. SO...where in the heck was I going with this? Oh yeh...gutters and siding. So today when it started raining, I didn't get sad or weird like normal...beeeeeccccaaaauuuuusssse...we have new siding and new gutters that keep the aforementioned house flood outside of the house where it belongs. Dry house, dry babies, dry carpet...happy Sn...

Kristi Kelly Designs

I grew up with Kristi...in fact, when we were younger, people thought we were twins because we look a lot alike. She would definitely be the crafty, creative, talented twin though. She makes beautiful baby things. When James was born she sent me a bib and wipe case and I absolutely love them! I ordered Jude a blanket and burp cloth and she sent me an adorable bib that I had been eying as a baby gift...she's so sweet! Here is the blanket...it is 35" x 35" and super cozy and soft. This is the backside. And see how snuggly it is!?!?! It snuggled Jude right to sleep. This is the bib Kristi gave me. I love it! Doesn't he look like such a big boy with a tie on! Here is the darling burp cloth! Something so beautiful shouldn't be called a burp cloth. Here is Kristi's card. In case you can't read it, here is the info: Kristi Kelly www.kristikelly.com info@kristikelly.com 469/767.5275 These are the perfect baby gifts and her prices are fab too! She...

Best Kept Secret

Back when I had James I had a bunch of brand new beautiful baby clothes and a major stain phobia. I was a total nazi about whoever was feeding him using a bib and a burp rag and not letting anything get on the new beautiful baby clothes for heavensake. And if anything did get on the sacred clothes, they were immediately removed, spotted, soaked and washed right away if not sooner. Then came the Similac formula that stains like a sonofagun. For reals....it made me crazy. So I usually stripped the poor kid down before feeding him. But as I was unpacking the baby clothes for Jude I saw that a few precious articles of clothing ended up stained with the Similac formula nonetheless. And for me to have just let it go could only mean that I must have been at the end of my mental rope. So a couple of days ago I asked my Mom to get one of the stains out for me because...incontestably...I am inept at stain removal. Being the smart and clever domestic goddess that she is, she googled "...

Love It

So here is one of my new obsessions...Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure. My Mom told me about it and I rushed right out and got some and I love it. The great thing about it is the brush. It is flat and skinny and the brush part is shaped like a finger nail so you don't get it all over the sides. Now if they only made one with a 3 foot brush on it so that I could reach my toes that would be great.
