No Afternoon Nap

After James' extreme spunkiness last night due to such a long afternoon nap...I have to admit that I was not sad that he didn't nap this afternoon.  And here is why.... Wiped out and in bed asleep before it's even dark outside.  And just in time for my date with The Bachelor . And with this little love-bug.

It's Windy

Something about these 60 mile per hour winds caused us all to take some really good naps around here today.  Really good long naps.  We had to wake James up from his. And it's a good thing we did because he was all hyped up like he was on some form of toddler speed for the rest of the night.  ~~~~~ Please pray with us for the families affected by the horrible fires today as well as the fireman and others helping and volunteering to provide shelter and other necessities for those displaced.

Birthday Party Fun

Today we went to a birthday party for our friend's daughter, Madi.  James had so much fun!  Here he is jumping with Charly. There were trampolines, foam pits, and bouncy things. He really loved when Brad threw him into the foam pit. Jude didn't have as much fun as James did. Here is the birthday girl, Madi. And her little sister, Sawyer. After working up an appetite jumping and bouncing Jamesie enjoyed a cupcake. And a sugar coma. I guess all that playing dried his lips out.  He asked for some "mex". Jude snacked on his piggies. I took this video because Jude was so cranky while he was in the betsy and I thought it was funny.  Then my little camera hog showed up.

Mc D-O-N-A-L-D-S

Today was BSF day and it was GREAT!  Last week James had problems with "quiet time" and being still and quiet.  I promised his teacher we would work on it this week.  And work on it we did.  This morning I dropped him off at his class and told him that I would ask Mrs. Sara how he did and if he did well I would get him a happy meal.  I'm not above bribing my 2 year old. When I picked him up I asked Mrs. Sara how he did during quiet time and she was happy to report that he AND Puppy were both still and quiet and stayed on their blankie!!!  A bee-line was made to the nearest Mickeydees.  As I was ordering James was in the back seat yelling..."AND A SPRITE!  AND A SPRITE!"  He had to make sure I got the order right.

It's A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood

We got to hang out with Nana and Papa on this beautiful day!  James and Papa swung Puppy. Jude loved being outside.   And James loves his beautiful Nana-Pie! After all of that playing outside...Jamesie needed a little rest with his Papa.  ~~~~~ Daily...several times a day...James talks about his cousin Brock.  When he wears any of his cousin's hand-me-downs, he exclaims, "BWOKIES!"...plays with any of their toys..."It's BWOKIES!"...eats off the Spider Man plates they gave him..."Bwokie's Spicer Mans"... So you can only imagine his utter loss of control when he found out he was going to get to see his cousins today.  Oh. My. Gosh.  Much little boy fun was had in the back yard. And Jude did much snuggling in Aunt Christi's arms.

Chore Day

James had a busy day of chores yesterday.  First he had to feed George.  And feed him he did.  At least he tried to scoop the overflow into a nice neat little pile. Next he did the dishes.  He washed ALL of the spoons. Every last one of them. Even the ones at the vvveeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrryyyyy back of the drawer that I didn't know were there. He's passionate about clean spoons.  For reals. Next he loaded the dishwasher. Last of all he dried my freshly painted toenails by blowing on them for me.  This was a bit alarming to Brad.  He asked how and why James knew how to do that.  It's a mystery. After all that hard work he deserved some good fun with his Daddy.

Swimmin' Balls

We had lunch today with Mom and Dad after church.  James saw the bag of balls out in Mom and Dad's garage and decided he needed to play with them.  The original ball pit that they go in was busted and they cleverly bought a blow up pool to put them all in.  So James called them swimmin' balls.  And boy did he have FUN! Lots of fun! Jude looked on from a safe place with Papa. I thought he might like to try out the swimmin' balls too. Not s'much. All that ball-swimming wore him out. And his sweet little piggies got all tangled up in his blankie. There is nothing like a good Sunday afternoon nap...proven by the wacky nap hair. Brad and James hung out after doing a little work in the garage. I made baked fudge with whipped cream for dessert.  James wanted just whipped cream but kept calling it sour cream.  BIG difference. But he loved his "sour cream". And he loves his Mommy! And I love his whipped cream kisses!

Last Time I Checked They Don't Offer Epidurals For Head Bumps

Today during nap time I thought I heard Brad downstairs hammering on something...which would have been a big problem. But upon further inspection I realized it was James...in his room...supposedly napping...but instead hammering on something. As I went to check this is how Jude was sleeping. As I got closer to James' room I could smell the baby lotion through the closed door. And this is how I found James. Apparently he's taken to snorting baby lotion.   But he has an incredibly soft nose. ~~~~~ We have been trying to decide on new bedding for several months now. It is just a commitment that I've been hesitant to make. We agreed on the major things...like no bed skirt (Brad HATES them)...euro pillows...no white...you know, the biggies. But it was the details that were hard for me. Anyhow, finally the new bedding is on the bed. I'm not thrilled out of my mind but at least it's done. I would be thrilled out of my mind if it was pink and toile and flowery b
