Mother's Day Part II

Last year we didn't get to have Jude dedicated at church because he had just been diagnosed.  Today was baby dedication at church again and we were able to make it!  Brad was working so my Dad stood with Jude and me.  I'm so proud of my handsome little boys that made my day so special.  James told me "Happy Mother's Day" about a zillion times.   After church we went to eat then to Mom and Dad's to open presents. James had picked out a special lady bug magnet (with Nana) because he knows I like lady bugs.  The fact that he picked it out himself because he knows I like them made it so special to me.  Such a sweet boy.  And such a sweet Nana!  Nana he also got me some beautiful earrings that I LOVE!  We snuggled down later to rest once we got home and I thanked him for my lady bug.  He said, "Thank you for opening it!  Did you really like it?"  I told him that it is my favorite present.  Then he said, "We...

Mother's Day Part IV

I had a wonderful Mother's day. Brad got donuts for breakfast...along with all the other dads in Amarillo...then we went to church, ordered pizza for lunch because I did not want to fight the crowds, and then I took a nice long nap. Ahhhh. James colored this beautiful card for me! (Brad helped him with the writing). Tonight our good friends Lindsay and Bean stopped by to see us while they were in town. It was SO great to catch up. We haven't seen them since December which is way too long to go without a Bean fix. We won't see them again until July or August. Boo-hoo. James had a particularly lovely time with Bean and Lindsay. Well....especially Lindsay. Sorry about the incident L. I'm pretty sure James is in love. James showed them all of his best tricks. He was really on tonight. I've never seen him show off so much. What a little performer. ~~~~~ Also today, Brad taught James the importance of personal hygiene. Specifically keeping his toenails trimme...

A Mother's Day Present To Me

I worked in the Vine up at church tonight. (The Vine is our church's bookstore/resource center/gift shop). They had a special section up for Mother's day and I saw this Karen Kingsbury book. So when things died down I read it. And I cried. OH boy is this one a tear-jerker. Just the title, Let Me Hold You Longer , was enough to get me teary. Anyways, the book talks about how we always think about all of the "firsts"...first tooth, first step, first words, etc...but taking time to start thinking about the lasts....last time he sleeps with his tattered teddy bear, last time he is able to jump in your arms and be held, last time he sleeps between mommy and daddy in bed. *sniff sniff* So being the pregnant emotional train-wreck that I am...I heard him still awake and making small talk with Puppy in his bed when I got home and I slipped in to see him. This is not something that happens very often around here. It is strictly forbidden to go into his room after he...

Mother's Day With Mom

We celebrated Mother's Day with my Mom and Dad today because tomorrow they will be going to Lubbock to celebrate with my grandmother. We went to eat and then to their house for cookies and presents. It was a lovely time! I am so fortunate and blessed to have such a wonderful Mother. I hope I can be even half the mom to my kids that she has been to me. She is such an integral part of our everyday lives...I don't know what we would do without her. She is my best friend, my adviser, and my example of how to be a wife and mother. AND the best Nana in the entire world! So great in fact that every time we try to leave her house this is what happens... James has a total, calamitous breakdown in which he gets a death grip on Nana and cries like he may never see her again. Seriously...we go through this every single time we leave. That is what true love looks like. Thank you for loving us so much Mom! We love you and YAMS!

Early Mother's Day

Brad called me today on his way home from work and told me go to our room and close the door. I knew he had gone shopping for my Mother's day present today. And we can never keep presents from each other. So I knew I was about to get my Mother's day present. When I came out I saw this on the table! A brand new laptop all for me. I don't have to share. It is mine all mine! And it is fancy and I LOVE it! So now we can lay in bed and do this... Which makes me very happy. Even though we both look grumpy. I have the best hubby in the world!
