Happy 41st Anniversary Mom & Dad!

First and most importantly...Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad! I love you! Thank you for the wonderful, beautiful example that your marriage is to me! ~~~~~ Last year I went all sorts of crazy over a little birdy nest that was on my porch. I became the crazy bird lady and posted about them here , here , here , here , here , here , here , here , and here . Oddly enough. Several weeks ago a Mommy and Daddy bird started building a nest on our front porch and it really annoyed me because their poop got all over. Brad knocked the nest down twice but they were undaunted. They rebuilt. So we gave up and let them take up residence outside our front door...but I wasn't happy about it. They would dive at our heads every time we went out. They are loud. They poop a lot. And the sight of their nest gives me the willies. But things settled down and I noticed that the Mommy bird was staying in the nest when I went out instead of flying off. I felt a kinship with her since she was sit...

Moxie

You know that final burst of energy kids get right before bedtime? James used his showing me some of his many different expressions. Adorable. Shock. Brooding. Aghast. Spooked. Then he used up his last final moments of vigor jumping on the bed and laughing hysterically. Which made me laugh too. Although his energy can be exhausting...I love to watch it. I wonder if I ever had as much energy. I kinda doubt it. I think that's what little boys are made for. That and to bring their mommies lots and lots of joy!

A Month

So today was the start of what is going to be a very long few weeks. Brad is out of town. For a month. Y'all, I'm not even kidding...a month. I mean, on a normal day I start calling him around 3:00 and bugging him to come home early because we're bored. For reals. Then he feeds me some sort of crap about having to bring home the bacon and whatnot and he can't leave work and whatever. It's just so much more fun with him around. So anyways...I'm that bad after a regular day...can you even imagine a month? Yeh, me neither. See...I don't do fun things like this. Because I'm not strong enough. And I'm pregnant. And I'm scared of getting kicked in the face and of getting a mouth full of drool. So last night James soaked up all of the Daddy fun he could. And gave him lots of kisses. This little boy is crazy about his sweet Daddy. This morning...James pulled out all the stops to postpone Brad's leaving. He threw balls. He brought him boo...

What A Great Weekend!

We had a wonderful weekend! We spent the day Saturday with Mom and Dad and then had a cook-out with some of our best friends that night over at Chris and Sarah's. Madi is like the big sister to all the kids. She's awesome! James had a great time in the pool! All of the kids were so cute and had a great time together. And all the mommies and daddies did too.

Summer Fun

Today James and I went over to my friend Apryl's house for some summer fun. There was a slip n' slide and a baby pool. James was most interested in my cherry limeade. It was 5000 degrees outside though. He did have some fun in the baby pool though. It had a slide! But then it was time for some more to drink. And a little more swimming before bedtime. But this time in the bathtub.

Jude Quinn

It's a boy! Jude Quinn. He currently weighs 1 pound and 1 ounce. Everything checked out great! His heart, organs, spine, brain, and everything in between. His profile doesn't look anything like James' looked at this same time on his sonogram. And I don't remember James ever doing this... Touching his toes to his head. James doesn't know what is going on yet. We told him he is going to have a baby brother and he just stared at us. I realized this morning that I can no longer tell him he is "my favorite little boy in the whole wide world" anymore. But at least I have about 18 more weeks to spoil him.

Memorial Day & Today

We celebrated Memorial Day with Mom and Dad. It was such a perfect day. James enjoyed some boating. Then it was time to get in the pool. He was a little reluctant at first... But jumped right in after Mommy got in. After the pool, he warmed up with his beautiful Nana. He loves his Nana-pie. And I think she likes him pretty well too. Then he got a bath to clean off the layers and layers of sunscreen I globbed on him. Plus he had broken out in a rash all over his little belly and it was making me nervous. Then Papa shared his ice cream and strawberries with him. So as we were all relaxing and enjoying our desserts...guess what James did? Of course he got back in the pool with his shoes and jammies on. I guess that made perfect sense in his mind. Or it was just too big of a temptation. O-well. Boys will be boys. ~~~~~ Today we had a check up with Dr. H. We got kicked out of the waiting room to the hall when they found out James had a rash though. James was less than thrilled. Bu...
