He CAN Go!

I set aside this day to do some big-time cleaning to this house.  It was over due.  But the thing is...potty training and clean floors aren't friends.  So after the 4th accident I called a cease fire with the tee-tee's and put him in a diaper.   He was cool with it.  He didn't care. And for some reason he decided he needed to wear these sunglasses all evening. Tonight while we were eating, James was having a bierox and said, "Mmmmm, mmmmm, mmmm...it's alicious!"  (Delicious)  I tried to get him to say it again but he wouldn't play along.  He wanted to see himself on the camera instead.  Warning: don't watch if you are prone to motion sickness.   So on to the BIG news of the day!!!!  We have been potty training for exactly 2 weeks today and we finally had our second success!!!!  Hooray!  I was about to put James in his nite nite diaper and pj's and asked him to go sit on the potty and try one more time before he we...

Can You Go

My friend, Bean, sent me this video to help with Jamesies potty training ventures.  He showed it to me before but it has a whole new importance now that we are in the potty training phase of life.  Enjoy.

Day 2 Of Potty Training

This morning I went and got Jamesie some big boy pull-ups and big boy undershirts! We also made a potty chart with stickers for when he tries to go tee-tee or poo-poo on the potty. He gets a piece of candy for successful attempts. It is hard for me to give up putting him in onesies. I love onesies. It is like the last baby thing and now he is wearing big boy undershirts. Next thing I know he will be driving. We spent A LOT of time in the bathroom today. I guess that is part of the fun of potty training. By the end of the day I think he was a little bored with potty training and decided to make his own fun with the potty bowl. Don't worry, it was clean. And Jude managed to shove most of his hand in his mouth while he was sleeping. Wow.

It's Go Time

Today James kept coming up to me and saying, "poo poo" and running to the bathroom. I thought it was clever of him that he had made the connection but it never occurred to me that he needed to go. Later it had gotten ominously quiet and I went to look for him and this is how I found him. We have never talked to him about potty training and never sat him on the potty. He just decided all on his own that today was the day. After several times of taking off his diaper, putting him on the potty, practicing wiping, flushing and washing his hands, he finally TEE-TEE'D IN THE POTTY!!!!!!!!! Brad and I cheered and danced for him! I am so proud of him! Tomorrow he will get a special treat for such a big accomplishment! Way to go Jamesie!!!!
