Sleepy Cowboy

My little cowboy fell asleep with his hat and cowboy boots on. I love this child.

Streams In The Desert

This is yesterday's entry from Streams In The Desert : God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns. Psalm 46:5 'Will not be moved'-what an inspiring declaration?  Is it possible for us who are so easily moved by earthly things to come to a point where nothing can upset us or disturb our peace? The answer is yes, and the apostle Paul knew it.  When he was on his way to Jerusalem, the Holy Spirit warned him that "prison and hardships" (Acts 20:23) awaited him. Yet he could triumphantly say, "But none of these things move me" (Acts 20:24). Everything in Paul's life and experience that could be disturbed had already been shaken, and he no longer considered his life or any of his possessions as having any earthly value.  And if we will only let God have His way with us, we can come to the same point.  Then, like Paul, neither the stress and strain of little things nor the great and heavy trials of life wil...

Our Newest Addition

Judie Bug has an intense fear of dogs.  When he was in the hospital after he was diagnosed, a "therapy dog" was brought in.  It got up in his face and terrified him and he has not been the same around dogs since.  The other day, Brad was talking with a guy at work who breeds Dobermans and talked about how great they are with children.  My first response when Brad asked me to pray about getting one was a little incredulous.  But I told him I would pray about it and do some research.  A couple of weeks later I agreed to it...with conditions.  1. We had to make sure Jude could warm up to the puppy.  2. We have to make sure she is professionally trained.  3. Brad is responsible for exercising her.  4. And I will not...under any circumstances...be on poop patrol.  Ever.  I have enough of that with 3 kids.  After all the conditions were agreed upon we told the boys we are going to get a dog and started thinking about names....

A Quick Get-Away

Tuesday I picked James up from school and he was extra loquacious. My ears were so tired. Then all of the sudden...out of nowhere...silence. The child who never sleeps, fell asleep. I didn't move or make a sound until he woke up. Sweet boy. Sweet silence. Wednesday I took Katy Jane for her six month well check except she's seven months. Dr. Honey found Jude's tumor at his six month well check so I have had some major anxiety issues about six month well checks. Of course our little KJ is just fine, except for another ear infection. Ear infections I can handle. Thursday my sister got into town for a little more birthday celebrating with our sweet Mommy. We did s ome birthday lunching and shopping. Saturday morning early, Brad and I dropped all the babes off at Mom and Dad's and went to see our sweet friends, Zach and Lindsay in Lubbock for the weekend. The kids had a great time with Nana, Papa and Aunt Care Care.   We had so much fun hanging out with our...

Happy Birthday Mommy!

Happy birthday to my beautiful Mom today!  We met Mom and Dad at church this morning, followed by lunch and then cake and presents.  It was a fun day celebrating my wonderful Mom! The boys helped bring Nana her cake while we sang Happy Birthday!   They also helped blow out the candles. I am so grateful for my precious Mom! "All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to my angel Mother." Abraham Lincoln Happy birthday, my sweet Mommy!  I love you so much!  YAMS!

And Another One Bites The Dust

Of course, Brad came home from work Thursday SICK.  So that makes 4/5 of our family that is sick.  I think everyone is on the mend...except for Jude has started poking his ear, crying and saying, "owie".  I don't know how he could have an ear infection when he is on an antibiotic but if anyone could...it would be Jude.  Daddy and Kate looking at puppies on the computer.  Fascinating stuff. Katy Jane is happy as long as she is right next to her Daddy. Tomorrow is my sweet Mommy's birthday.  James picked out a card for his Nanapie and tonight he and Jude colored it.

RSV

A tsunami of illness has swept through our home.  All 3 children have RSV and are super-sick.  I have truly lost count of how many times I have been vomited on.  They are pitiful.  Friday, Katy Jane and I ended back up at the doctor's office because she was having trouble breathing.  Now I think she is finally getting a little better.  She is still coughing a lot, but getting better.   Saturday I noticed James and Jude going downhill.  By Sunday, James was pitiful.  He fell asleep watching tv. Monday morning we were at Dr. Honey's office before the doors even opened. Sure enough, both boys have RSV.  I was surprised it wasn't the flu.  I really thought it was going to be.  They both had really high temperatures.  Monday got exponentially worse as the day went on.  They felt so badly. James and Jude were in my room before 5 this morning coughing their heads off.  As we made our way downstairs I quickly ...

Doctors & More Doctors

Judie Bug got his hair cut today and looks so handsome.  He was so proud of himself.  As Brad was leaving with him, James yelled for him to make sure they gave Jude a sucker.  Sweet boy looking out for his little brother. After they got back I took Katy Jane to the doctor.  She had developed a yucky cough and fever.  She has RSV and a double ear infection.  Poor little girl.  I think she is our first kid to get RSV.  She feels so badly but still is so sweet. This is just a random picture of the boys with bubble beards. And another random picture of them with their sweet Nanapie. This afternoon Brad, James and I had our eye doctor appointments.  This was James' first and he was SO excited about it!  He didn't stop talking the whole time...to the doctor, the assistant, the receptionist, the people in the waiting room...  And he did great!  He doesn't need glasses yet which I am happy about.   He made su...

Taos

Brad and his friend, Tim went skiing in Taos yesterday.  They had a great time.  The kids and I were glad to have him back all in one piece and safe.
