The Penny Box

We had more fun today with Mom, Dad, Christi and the boys.   We came home for naps while Mom and Christi had a birthday lunch. After his nap, James had some important banking to do. When I was pregnant with James, Bean came into town and brought us a gift for James...who we didn't know was James at the time. It was an adorable green piggy bank and a soft brown and green lovie. We planned his nursery around those colors. Well about a year ago James managed to get his piggy bank down from the shelf and it broke into a zillion pieces. We were sad. So, being the class acts that we are, we've been putting his money (our spare change that he collects from us) in a big jar. I kept on intending to get him a new piggy bank but then I remember about a bank my Dad gave me when I was a little girl. He was the Postmaster and he made a bank out of an old post office box. The real miracle is that I remembered the combination to get it open! Of all the things to get lodged up in ...

Happy Birthday Grant

Yesterday when James got up from his nap he had on one muff-muff and one cowboy boot.  Such an interesting little guy.  So when I dressed him for church he still wanted to wear them.  Too bad it was 101 degrees outside. This morning we went to hear Brad's dad's first mass as a deacon. It was wonderful!  He did a great job!  I was so proud of him.  Then tonight my sister, Christi and her boys came into town!  And today is Grant's 9th birthday! We had a great time singing to him, eating a cookie cake and watching him open presents! Happy Birthday to you... Papa and Will James, Will, Grant, and Brock James LOVES when his cousins are in town!  They all have so much rambunctious fun together.  And then he sleeps really really well.  Love it.  Jude is finally getting in on a little bit of the action too.  Mostly he just sits in amazement and watches all of the activity. Summer Fun

Tomorrow is the Relay .  I have mixed emotions about it.  Excitement, sadness, anxiety, pride.  I'm very proud of our team.  We held the first place spot for several weeks and were only beat out by Valero this week....and only by $80 (last time I checked).  I'm proud of us.  For a small team and it being our first year...we held our own and are only second place to a big company!  Pretty good.  But it's not over till it's over.  If you would like to donate, click here .  We will also be selling some baked goods at the Relay and can still raise money up until the end.   The boys and I went over to Mom's this morning.  They got in a little time with Aunt Christi and Nana while waiting for Brock and Grant to get back from their other grandparents house. Just... A... Swingin' Jude too Nana's boy Examining his roly poly Snuggling with Aunt Christi Finally the boys got back.  James lights up as soon a...
