Dainty

Yesterday Katy Jane had her 2 week appointment with Dr. Honey and was 1 ounce away from regaining her birth weight.  She also had her ears re-checked at the hospital as she failed her original hearing test and couldn't hear in her left ear.  She passed!  She had her PKU test while we were at the hospital.  She was a busy girl yesterday. I am amazed at how dainty and feminine she is.  She oozes girliness.  I am so used to my rough and tumble boys that her delicateness is so cute to me.

Happy 4th Of July

Yesterday James and I were discussing our plans for today with Nana and he asked me why we celebrate the 4th of July.  I scrambled through the recesses of my  mind praying that something...just this one time...from high school history class would have lodged somewhere up there in my brain so I could give my child a semi-intelligent response.  And by the grace of God I came up with the correct answer...I had to confirm with my Mom and Brad though to make sure I was right.  I hate being put on the spot.  Even by my own 3 year old. We started out our celebrations by having a cookout at Mom and Dad's.  The boys played in the back yard.  I did bring their swimsuits but James ended up wearing just his undies and Jude opted for the only slightly more appropriate attire of a swim diaper.       Those eyelashes kill me.  What I would give.. Earlier in the day James and I made cupcakes for tonight's dessert.  He is definite...

1st Pool Day

Because I was too gigantic to brave donning a swimsuit while I was pregnant, yesterday was our first day to take the boys to the pool this summer.  They loved it! Jude was a little reserved at first and preferred to sit in my lap and eat his sandwich.  He finally warmed up to the pool once Brad took him in. James loves the slide. Still working on that sandwich.  James was so cold so I got to snuggle with him while he warmed up. Jude and Daddy. We had fun but I was anxious to get back to Katy Jane.  She stayed with Nana while we went to the pool  I missed her.  Next summer she will be able to go to the pool with us.

My Little Blossom

Just. Can't. Get. Enough. Girlie. Stuff.   I have waited over 13 years to unleash all of my girliness onto my daughter and finally she is here.  Her head may never see a day without a bow...or a gigantic flower as the case may be. The boys discovered that they really like the hat we received at the hospital from a sweet little granny who goes around handing out hand-made beanies and babies first bible.  Notice Katy Jane giving a little shout-out there in the background behind Jude.  Or maybe she's just mad because her brothers jacked her beanie. I'd be mad too.  It's awesome.

Happy 1 Week Katy Jane

One week has flown by!  What a joy this sweet little girl is...the answer to so many prayers for so many years. ~~~~~ A few weeks back we had baby dedication at church for Jude.  Brad had to work so my Daddy stood with Jude and I.  We got the picture today from the church. I cannot figure out what Jude's look says.  But he clearly did not get the memo to smile.  I guess he thought the photographer said, "Look confused, mystified, and stoned." Click! Christi and the boys left today.  But not before James and Jude got to have a ton of fun with them.  I ventured out of the house with Katy Jane all the way around the corner to my parents house.  Daring, I know.  Dad and I were sitting on the couch staring at Katy Jane when Brock came in the back door behind us and said, "There is a big lizard in the house and I am not kidding."  I casually turned and smiled at him and then turned back to Katy Jane.  He raised the intensit...
