Better Late Than Never

Come to find out...kids are supposed to have an 18 month well-check. Who knew! So at 21 months, we got all caught up on well-checks and vaccines. While we waited, James was most delighted to find a kitchen stocked with fake food. It kept him very busy. I think I am going to get him one of these. After his appointment and two shots, he needed a nice long nap! 3 HOURS!!!! I actually had to wake him up. Snacks after his nap. And here is my huge self at 27 weeks and 1 day. Behemoth.

Bradley, Babbling, and Books

The night before Brad came home he told me that all he wanted to do when he got here was sleep, watch movies, and get donuts. I was more than happy to oblige since sleeping and eating donuts are pretty high up on my list these days. Jamesie didn't mind so much either. Having Brad back home has lots of perks...one of them being that he shares in stinky diaper duty. Unfortunately, Jamesie has started a new bad habit. I don't think he really knows what he's doing. Just a fun new place to stick his finger. But it doesn't make his Daddy too happy. But he can multitask and take two calls at once. It's pretty impressive. Jamesie is talking non-stop these days. Most of the words aren't intelligible to anyone but me, but that's ok. He has a lot to say and I want to hear it all. ~~~~~ My friend Lorraine brought us by a huge stack of books today! What a thrill! Jamesies favorite thing to do is read. One of my favorites was The Perfect Pumpkin Pie which made ...

Welcome Home!

Yea! Daddy's finally home! Update: Brad was so completely worn out when he got home he slept for over 12 hours straight. I've never seen him sleep that much. Hopefully he is all rested up!

Camp M.K. Brown

Only a few more days until Brad is home for good but James and I couldn't wait any longer...we had to go visit him and see where he's been for the last few weeks. So today James, my Dad, and I went out to Camp M.K. Brown. I don't know who was more excited to see who. Brad was pretty excited to see James. He's missed his little guy. Brad gave us a tour of the camp. It was really cool. This is the dining hall. James and Daddy chilling in the dining room. This was a chicken or rooster or something. I had no idea these things were so big! I thought it was a turkey or something. James clued me in when he gave his very best "DOODLE DOODLE DOOOOO!" upon seeing it. Translation: "Cock-a-doodle-doo". All I know is I'm getting gypped at the super market because the chickens I get are totally not this big. And what's up with the furry hobbit feet? I had no idea. Yikes! Understandably, James had a few questions of his own. Next we got to see ...

A Visit To Dee Dee's

Here is an update on my baby birdies. They are growing almost as fast as Jamesie is. I particularly love the little grumpy one in the bottom left corner. ~~~~~ Yesterday, Mom, Dad, James and I went to go visit my sweet little grandmother, Dee Dee and Aunt Donna. James is at that stage where he mostly just likes to be in familiar surroundings with familiar people. So he hung pretty close to his Nana for awhile. And by "pretty close" I mean...glued to her side. He finally got his nerve up to go check out some of the interesting tchotchkies around Dee Dee's house. I remember being fascinated by these same things when I was little. He even tried to get the kitty to play with him...but she kept her distance. I can't believe I didn't get a picture of Dee Dee yesterday! But here are some from a visit we had with her a little over a year ago. Dee Dee hasn't changed a bit but Jamesie sure has.

My Little Tadpole

Someday Jamesie is going to hate me for taking these kinds of pictures. But I just can't help myself. He is just too cute and irresistible.

Happy Father's Day Bradley!

Happy Father's Day Sweetie! We miss you and we love you so much!
