Valentine's Date

Brad had planned a super-romantic date for me for tonight. It was to be a surprise. But being that I don't care at all for surprises and he can't keep a secret from me, he told me a couple of weeks ago what he had planned. The fabulous date included dinner at one of my favorite restaurants that serves Greek/Mediterranean food. And the very thought of Greek/Mediterranean food made me want to puke my guts up. So I smiled sweetly and thought it would pass. A week later it hadn't passed. So I told him that we couldn't go there for our wonderful Valentine's date because of this cursed morning (all-day-long) sickness. He was sweet and gracious as always and asked me what I wanted to do. At first I just wanted pizza. Then I wanted Taco Bell. Then I just wanted to eat bananas. But we finally settled on El Tejevan. (The world's very best authentic Mexican food restaurant ever). Thank goodness it agreed with both me and the baby. Then this afternoon we took...

Happy Valentine's Day

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY TO YOU!

The Chip Never Even Had A Chance

I was sitting in my chair this morning drinking coffee and doing something super important on the computer when I saw a sneaky little hand creeping up beside me to hijack my cell phone. He's pretty slick for a one year old. James has discovered this little space behind the chair that he has to crawl under the end table to get to. I think he thinks he is invisible back there. I let the man have his fun. We all need a place to escape to now and then. At lunch James hit the motherload in the potato chip department. For reals...it was totally bigger than his head. He looks so in love. I feel the same way about food. I think this is an unhealthy addiction. Thank heavens he has his father's metabolism. He's planning his attack... He goes in for the kill... The whole thing was gone in about 2 seconds. It's those crazy bunny teeth of his. I swear...he could gnaw through a log in less that a minute. Sometimes it scares me. James has developed a little skill we like to...

Chili Pie

This is what a pregnant woman craves and eats at 9:00 at night. Fritoes, chili, extra hot queso, onions, jalapeno peppers, and tomatoes. And this is what she takes at 9:17 after inhaling the above chili pie. TUMS. Tomorrow this delicious chili pie picture is going to make me want to barf...just the thought of this chili pie picture will make me want to barf. I won't even be able to think about my blog without barfing all because of this chili pie.

Still Knitting

We had a little bit of a scare yesterday with the baby and went to get things checked out today. We saw a good strong heartbeat. That is very reassuring. There is a little bit of a change to our due date though. It is now October 3rd which is just great because that is one of my darling nieces birthday. I think as a mother it is just part of life that we are going to worry about our kids...in utero or out. For me, pregnancy is an especially worrisome time. I wish I could see in there and know that everything is going well and this little one is thriving. Today I have taken great comfort in the fact that the Lord, who is knitting this precious one together in my womb, CAN see in there and IS taking care of him or her. And He will do a far better job than I could do. My sister always says, "The Lord knows the number of his days" regarding her children. That is wise and comforting. Some things are just out of my hands. But thankfully, they are always in the Lord's...

Jamesie

Jamesie is spending the night with Nana and Papa tonight. He's only been gone for a little bit and I already miss him. He is just such a little ray of sunshine.

Handsome Boys

My boys looked especially handsome today. I am awfully proud of them.
