Odds And Ends

It has been wonderful to have Brad home with us.  Jamesie has been soaking up all the time he can with him. So has Judie Bug.  (I love love love this picture!) We played outside today.  James put one of his chairs over the sprinkler and cooled off. These are the funky ugly weird shoes Brad got for Father's Day.  He loves them.  But my gosh...they are sure not cute. They are supposed to make your feet move more naturally and freely...blah blah blah.  But they sure were not concerned about making them purty. Also, remember back when I posted about Shellac manicures here ?  Well, I have to tell you that it has completely ruined my nails.  Now, I didn't have the strongest nails in the world, but they weren't too bad.  Now, they are shot.  They keep ripping down so far that it hurts.  I'm taking prenatal vitamins to try to help them out a little.  But all of this by way of saying...unless you have like some crazy strong nai...

Time To Pull The Shades

James is getting better little by little.  He still had a high temp today but is getting some of his energy back. MUCH to my dismay, the teenage daughter of our next door neighbor and 2 of her BFF's were sunbathing in the tiniest bikinis I've ever had the misfortune of seeing on the roof of their garage.  And even more unfortunately, this was extremely visible from my bedroom window.  James wasted no time finding his front row seat. After playing outside for a few minutes on this beautiful day, James was ready to take a bath and slip into his new Brockie pj's.  He's been dying to wear them. We act like total monkeys around here to get a few laughs out of Jude.  He has the cutest little laugh and it makes us so happy to hear it.

Lesson Learned

Never ever ever buy Wal-Mart diapers.  I just cleaned up the nastiest mess that was totally NOT worth the $3 I saved.  I would gladly pay $3 to never have to clean up that kind of poopy mess again.  Gross.

We've Got Issues

It's no secret that I have certain issues...I've not hidden it from you. For instance, my compulsivity to check to make sure the door is locked 50 times before I go to bed. My obsessive tidiness. The fact that I am scared senseless of owls. All the little quirks that caused my Mom to label me as "finely wired". Well, more and more I am seeing some of these traits show up in James. He likes things to be lined up neatly. I get it! So do I! He likes to line his trucks up on the counter or underneath that little ledge under the counter. I saw him doing it this morning and couldn't help but admire his handiwork. A job well-done! We were both very proud of him. This morning when I dressed James in his overalls, he looked down at them and rubbed his belly and said, "It's Papa!!!!". It was so sweet. Here are my two overall boys. Just like I am freaked out by clowns, owls and goats...James seems to have a fear of jack-o-lanterns. I can't bla...

That's Weird

Today I got my cousin's wedding invitation in the mail and was so excited to see that they have a wedding website. I ran right to the computer to look it up and got totally caught up in reading their story that I forgot that I have a very busy, climby 18 month old. When I remembered this is how I found him. He and Puppy were busy sorting napkins on the table. When will I ever learn? ~~~~~ I was reading one of my friend's blogs today and saw a cute little add-on thingy on her page. So I stole her idea and put it on mine too. Now you can know just how long until baby #2 makes his or her appearance with that little scary baby looking thing over to the right. Can't wait till it looks more human-like and less martian-like. 183 days seems really far away. ~~~~~ For Easter James got a Mr. Potato Head in his Easter basket. It totally freaks him out which is completely reasonable. I get it. And just a side note here...does anyone else find it extremely odd and just a bit di...

Seriously?

I was browsing online last night for toddler sheets and ran across this. This is very disturbing to me. A lid for the crib? So I will file that in the same category as I file the baby leash. Just plain wrong. Here are a few other things I find odd, disturbing, perplexing, and/or wrong: Really? Fake tummy tats for when your preggers. Get a life. Who would buy this ridiculous product??? Oh...I did. I doesn't work. At. All. Pee-Pee Tee Pees. Honestly. Just diaper the kid...fast. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. The breastfeeding baby doll. On so many levels. Wrong.
