Really?

Oh my word. This morning I was walking from the dining room into the kitchen and happened to look up and see a wet spot on the ceiling...right under where the shower is upstairs. OH NO! I can handle a lot of things. Home repairs are not one of them AT. ALL. Just ask my hubby. I don't handle disarray very well. I'm working on this. So I freaked out and called my Mom. Looooooooong story short. We had a plumber come out and diagnose the problem and give us an estimate. The insurance adjuster will be out tomorrow. When the plumber was here he stopped up the shower to determine if it is the base pan. It was. But then this happened. And I FREEEEAKED out. It's so dark and angry. And big. Why did it get so big?!?!?! THEN...it started dripping in a couple of different spots. WHY? STOP DRIPPING! And stop doing that weird bubbly, hangy down thing! And PLEASE stop dropping off in chunks! So I hooked up this...a fan on a ladder. (My Mom's brilliant idea!) ...

Fa La La La La, La La La La

Another blog that I read had posted some pictures of her house decorated for Christmas so I thought I would join in the fun. I didn't get the angel in the picture but she is lovingly referred to as either Honey (our pediatrician) or Raine (her nurse and my friend) by James. She was exclusively called Dr. Honey until we went in because James was sick and he got mad at her for looking in his ears. Since then the angel has only been called Raine . And so you don't think our pediatrician and nurse are strippers...Honey and Raine aren't their real names...it is just how James pronounces them and I think it is so cute that I don't correct him. And it is a true Christmas miracle that all of the lights on the tree are lit at the same time. Usually the top half is off. I think there is a short or something. I'll figure it out next Christmas. This is our nativity. James has Baby Jesus down but he is still calling Joseph "Daddy". Which is totally understa...

Moving Day 5

So what happened to day 2, 3, and 4? A lot. Here is the stack of boxes before Brad moved them Thursday night. James had a lot of fun playing in the new house while it was still empty. He especially loved playing in the packing paper. You gotta love a kid who can make a game out of anything. Friday, we had part of the kitchen cabinet taken out and cut down to make it fit the new stove. So here's the deal...I hate moving and I hate construction but I love my new house and my new stove, so I'm not complaining. Brad got all of the boxes and not-massive-furniture moved to the new house. He also moved all the stuff from storage except for 3 big things. Saturday morning Brad had to work. Mom and I worked at the new house and James helped (i.e. got in the way). Brad had asked Chris and Miah to help him after he got off work on Saturday and they actually showed up early and had most of the big furniture loaded up before Brad even got home. Those are some good friends to move you...

On The Move Again

I can’t believe it has almost been a year since we moved into this apartment. I was reading back over this , this and this post and was reminded of that time. Downsizing is not always an easy or pleasant task…but sometimes necessary. But we are on the move again. This time we are moving to a larger home and we are very excited. With Baby Jude’s impending arrival just around the corner, I am hoping those darn nesting instincts will kick in soon. And maybe this isn’t such a bad thing, moving while 7 months pregnant. I will be spared a lot of the hard work. We are moving literally right around the corner from my parents. What a blessing that will be with a new baby! I love the convenience. Packing while 7 months pregnant has been an interesting challenge. We started on Sunday to give ourselves plenty of time. I pack a few boxes each day and then Brad moves them into James' room to get them out of the way when he gets home. The key to my sanity is order, organ...

10 Things I Love About Apartment Life

1. Infinite hot water 2. Stupendous water pressure 3. Free maintenance 4. Free gym membership 5. Pool 6. It's not my problem if something breaks and I don't have to pay for it when it does 7. Coziness 8. No yard work (not that I ever did any...but for Brad's sake...) 9. Low low low utility bills 10. And the very best reason of all...Staying home with James!

Snuzi In Wonderland

Remember that part of Alice In Wonderland where Alice eats something that says, "Eat Me" (never a good idea by the way), and grows and grows and grows until she is way too big for the little house? That is pretty much what I've felt like over the past 10 days. But yesterday I finally got everything put away, every picture hung, and every box unpacked. Clearly the apartment is smaller than our house was but the odd thing is that everything is smaller too. Or maybe we grew. For instance, the counters are so short. We feel like we moved into a little bitty doll house. Or a house for tiny people. It's so strange. We feel like giants in here. It is utterly impossible for me to rest or be at peace when I am surrounded by clutter and chaos. Sad...but true. There were a lot of things working against us with this move. Our house sold immediately to the first person who looked at it, we had four days to pack and get moved, we had to move over half of our stuff to st...

Making Progress

Sadly, when my life gets hectic, one of the first things to fall by the wayside is nutrition. And not just for Brad and I...but for James too...as is shown here in this picture of him devouring a donut. Bless his hungry little heart. He loves donuts almost as much as mommy does. We've had several busy days of packing and moving and we feel great about our progress! Brad has been working hard. I have consistently reminded him that princesses are not meant to work as hard as I have been working the past few days. Most of these comments have been blatantly ignored. I got a little smidgen of sympathy yesterday though. Then he told me to get back to work. I pushed the lawn mower out of the way for Brad and I told him I thought that was the first time I had ever pushed one. He told me he thought we would make that a permanent change. I told him no we certainly would not. It's times like these that I am thankful I am not a man. Well...there are really no times ever that I ...

The Winds Of Change

Remember back like a million years ago when I was yapping about change and whatev? Yeh...well...little did I know that I was about to get exactly what I asked for. I always forget about the Lord's wacky sense of humor. So there are a lot of changes coming to the Drozell household. One of them being that we have sold our house. We put it on the market on a Saturday at 11:00 am and had 2 offers on it in 4 hours. (Seriously...best Realtor EVER!) So we've rented a storage unit and are working like crazy to get everything packed up. I worked my tail off until about 8:00 last night when I got a wicked migraine. The kind that makes me not able to see. Love it. So I figured that was my body's way of telling me to call it quits for the night. But I am fresh as a daisy this morning and ready to work! Brad has gone to get us a nutritious breakfast of donuts and I have the extra strong coffee perkin! So where are we moving to, you ask? Well...after much thought and prayer we...
